Kevin’s distinguished career began at Cut N’Up Barbershop in 1993 after attending Piedmont Cosmetology College. After becoming a master barber and partner in the shop where he began, in 1996 he moved to Charleston and pioneered the Stella Nova brand along with Terrence Renk from a small three-chair salon to a big business with five locations.
His creative talents broke the mold and moved him to Eleven 11 Salon and became a master colorist and expanded his work producing fashion shows and photo shoots.
In 2004 brought the realization of a life long dream. Kevin and his wife Charlotte, launched Elysium, a custom built salon including Elysium Education Center in the heart of downtown Charleston. This space embraces Kevin’s vision and gives his team the opportunity to take ownership of their industry. With ever growing success in 2006 Kevin expanded Elysium to Mt. Pleasant SC. supplying the demand for top stylist and full service salon including facials, massage and spray tan.
Kevin is a world-class stylist/colorist with over 15 years on the salon floor and traveling the world training under Yosh Toya (S.F.) Oribe (N.Y.) Cut & Color Mahogany (UK) Van Council (ATL) Bumble & Bumble, Scruples and Toni & Guy(UK) & Maurice Tidy (Vidal Sassoon) . Kevin is a true licensed Master Hair Care Specialist. Many call themselves masters with no license to back it up. He is the real deal. Kevin has mastered 7 apprentices through the OJT Program and they are now Elysium’s top stylists.
